Director: Karunakaran
Released Date: June 08, 2012
Story:
A good idea gone stale, the story begins with Ram (Ram) who is a mischievous but kind hearted young man. He troubles his family a lot with his nature and his father (sayaji) decides to send him to Paris with a plan wherein Ram can learn some responsibility and seriousness in life. Ram goes to Paris and gets stuck. However, he meets Sravanthi (tamannah), daughter of the Indian ambassador (suman) at a very unusual situation. But Sravanthi helps him to reach India and she has an important reason behind that. Why does Sravanthi help Ram? What changes that bring in Ram’s life? All this forms the rest of the story.
Presentation:
The director has come up with an unusual storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was not gripping. The dialogues were alright, the script was not that strong and the screenplay was loose. Background score was upto the mark but songs failed to create an impact. Cinematography captured the locations very well. Editing was alright and did its bit as required. Costumes were very good while the art department was impressive. Ram has come up with a good performance and though his regular energy levels were missing, he was nice. Tamannah looks very beautiful and her performance was appealing. Sayaji Shinde was alright, Suman was elegant, Rishi was okay, Kona Venkat was adequate, Brahmi didn’t deliver much, Raghu Babu was usual, Krishna Bhagawan brought few smiles. The others were there to fill the screen.
Conclusion:
The talk is that the film happens to be a straight remake from a Hollywood movie but still it has not been able to deliver the required impact. While the first half goes on a lighter note with elements of romance, comedy and few songs, the second half gets into some serious mode and some melodrama. But the love factor was lacking the right depth to take the audience along with the film. Overall, this is a subject which has good technical values and some good performances but the execution part was the setback. At the box office, the film might be anywhere between average to below average grosser.
Idlestars Verdict : Could have been better
